Specific duties will include preliminary and detailed design of bridges and other civil structures, cost estimating, checking of designs and drawings, review of shop drawings, specifications and contract document preparation, structural assessments/inspections and preparation of reports and proposals.
Professional Engineer who has demonstrated experience in the area of structural design and bridge engineering with a recognized consulting engineering firm.
• Seismic design experience an asset.
• Superior technical understanding, design abilities and current on bridge technologies.
• Working knowledge of software used for structural analysis in design such as SAP, SFrame, etc.
• Specific areas of expertise required are in the planning, preliminary and detailed design, and construction of bridges of standard and complex geometry, and culverts. A thorough knowledge of current design codes and standards is essential.
• Experience with design of rehabilitation of existing structures.
• Experience with bridge condition surveys and construction phase structural liaison. |
