Reporting to the General Superintendent, the Base Superintendent ensures that quality road services are provided to clients in a timely, efficient and cost effective manner. This position requires experience in a similar position.
Key responsibilities include:
- lead and manage base crew operations ensuring crews are trained and understand all aspects of the Quality Control Program.
- coordinates and schedules projects, equipment requirements, materials, supplies and sub-contractors with the General Superintendent.
- responsible for planning, hiring and training staff.
- ensures all environmental, health & safety standards are met and maintained on the job site.
- ensures that all equipment is in good repair and that regular maintenance is conducted.
- manages each project to ensure contract specifications and standards are met or exceed requirements.
- ensures timely paper flow to clients, engineers and corporate office.
The successful candidate will have a thorough knowledge of the road construction industry and road building, strong communication and team management skills, understanding of project management and excellent time management and planning skills.
